PPM-01.01 — Title: Policy & Procedures

Approved by: _____________________________

Naida Rutherford, DNP, APRN-BC Richland County Coroner

Policy:

The information in this manual is intended to provide supervisors, deputies, administrative personnel, and other key employees with the appropriate guidance regarding policies, practices, and procedures of the Richland County Coroner’s Office. The current information in this manual supersedes and replaces all prior published and unpublished policies. None of the policies or procedures contained in this manual or any related policies, procedures, practices, or guidelines constitute a contract of employment or any other type contract.

Procedure:

Periodically, state and local laws are amended. These changes may have a direct or indirect effect on this office. Amendments will be made to this manual as these laws change, or as circumstances arise which warrant the alteration of any of the current policies or procedures of this office. Proposed changes will be brought to the attention of the Coroner, who, after consultation with key personnel she deems necessary, will approve the necessary changes. Personnel designated by the Coroner will then make the necessary changes to the manual and ensure each employee has a copy of any amendments.

The Richland County Coroner’s Office reserves the right to rescind, modify, or deviate from these or any other policies as it considers necessary at its sole discretion either in individual situations or otherwise, with or without notice. Due to the nature of this office’s operations and the possible need to accommodate individual circumstances, the provisions in this manual or any related policies, practices, procedures, or guidelines may not apply to every employee in every situation.

Failure to Comply:

Failure to comply with any policy or procedure in this manual will be grounds for disciplinary action, not to exclude immediate termination.
